Mathew Cooper & Judith Miller Protecting Liberal CIA Source?

A new article by journalist Michael Isikoff, who recently was responsible for several deaths due to his incorrect article on flushed Korans via an anonymous source, has another anonymous source piece out in Newsweek. This one per Isikoff hints that Karl Rove may be the source that leaked the identity of Valerie Plame. Plame is married to Bush critic Joseph Wilson, who Plume suggested be the one to investigate the reports that Iraq was seeking to buy uranium from the African country of Niger.

Rove the Source?

The moonbats are giddy that they could have the goods on Rove, but even Flush Isikoff’s article comments on that being unlikely:

Luskin told NEWSWEEK that Rove "never knowingly disclosed classified information" and that "he did not tell any reporter that Valerie Plame worked for the CIA." Luskin declined, however, to discuss any other details. He did say that Rove himself had testified before the grand jury "two or three times" and signed a waiver authorizing reporters to testify about their conversations with him. "He has answered every question that has been put to him about his conversations with Cooper and anybody else

I sense that just the opposite is in the works here, and the reason being that Novak has already spoken on the source and cooperated. Novak is a right leaning journalist and Mathew Cooper as well as Judith Miller are left leaning journalists. I have to believe if Cooper or Miller had the good on Rove, they would roll him in a NY minute. They have not and I think it’s more complicated than the journalistic idealism of protecting ones source.

I think it will turn out to be more about keeping the source where they are at and feeding them the tips. I think the source will be proven to be a liberal source within the CIA and someone Miller & Cooper value greatly and want to protect for future info they can spin into anti-Bush story lines.

Time will tell, but that’s my theory at this point……………
