Red State Democrat Senators & Blue State Republican Senators
Three more Bush appellate nominees confirmed after long being denied by the Democrat Fili
they are worthy now
The interesting thing that Dems fiercely continued to contest William Pryor of Alabama. He won confirmation but without the vote of three Republicans: Lincoln Chafee (RI), Susan Collins (Maine), and Olympia Snowe (Maine). The even more interesting thing is the democrat's who voted for Pryor: Ben Nelson (Neb) and Ken Salazar (CO).
Makes this earlier point made by Dick Morris look all the more relevant
Morris Senate Model
Each of the liberal Republicans in a Blue state voted against Pryor: Chafee, Collins, and Snowe. Nelson in a Deep Red state voted for Pryor. Salazar is from a red state but not a "deep" red state per the Morris model but it went Bush 52% to 47%. I think Morris is onto this big time and this is the dynamic that will drive voting leading up to the 2006 elections.
I like the look of this Senate and the voting blocks I'm seeing.
