Brian Ross & ABC Mix Down the Hastert Story

ABC's Brian Ross is falling off the floor from a credibility standpoint after his latest anonymous source smear story:

Despite a flat denial from the Department of Justice, federal law enforcement sources tonight said ABC News accurately reported that Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert is "in the mix" in the FBI investigation of corruption in Congress........................

So ABC & Ross are sticking with the anonymous source who fed them the Hastert investigation story, which the DOJ flatly denies is true, and are now reframing it as a Hastert is "in the mix" story? Isn't being in the mix much different from being investigated? Is that called a MSM mix-down?
